Fighting Tips For Beginners
When starting out a martial art, beginners most often have questions regarding striking and sparring as the first time fighting or sparring against a moving and retaliating person can be quite challenging. These few tips are sure to help you avoid getting hit in the face and throwing more of your own punches inside the ring to make the sparring experience more enjoyable and less painful.
1. With speed, relaxation and technique, throw your punches and never try for power.
2. You don’t always need to see an opening for a particular blow. Only throw the combo sharply and easily, and the opening is always in the midst of your combo.
3. Switch away on either side after the punching is done. It’s much easier for you to stand your ground than to back up directly.
4. When you think that you’re doing a lot of jabbing, jab twice as much.
5. Place both gloves on your temples when you get into trouble, protect your face and jaw with your forearms, and move, move, move.
6. Try not to relax your arms when blocking attacks. To defend yourself, simply raise your weapons. It’s much easier said than done.
7. Keep your chin down at all times.
8. Switch up your assaults, try your variations to be as random as you can.
9. Just pace yourself. Instead of only attacking the whole time, use your defensive and offensive tactics.
10. Before attacking, when attacking and after the attack, concentrate on holding yourself in a good balanced position. It’s really important here!
11. Don’t give up ever. In the beginning, taking a bit of a beating is just part of the learning process. Stick with it, and instead of a nail, you’ll eventually become more like a hammer.
Reward Tip:
BREATHE! Never hold your breath amid your competing round. Inhale consistently through your nose with your mouth shut while making short however not excessively solid exhalations through the mouth when you throw each strike. The all the more all around molded you are, the better you will have the capacity to control your breath.
