Passing
The following tips will help ensure that players and their teammates are able to pass with high accuracy:
The ball is required to connect with the widest part of the players arm between their wrists and elbows
They can increase the length of their arms by pressing their wrists and hands down
Locking their elbows provides the volleyball with a larger surface area to land on. Furthermore, it allows the player to pass the ball in a definite direction
Players, by bending their knees before connecting with the ball will make it easy for themselves to absorb a serve and re-direct the pass they make
Setting
The basic core idea behind setting is for the players to convert a bump pass into a strategically positioned ball for any of their players in order to. For players to set a ball for maximum impact for their teammates, they should keep the following tips in mind:
They should make sure that they are facing their target if they are not planning to make a back set.
Ensure that both their hands connect with the volleyball simultaneously.
Players who are setters are prone to committing violations, but they can avoid it by ensuring that the ball does not touch their palm or rest on their hand.
Hitting
The idea behind the hit is to be able to send the ball into a portion of the volley court that the opposition team has not covered. Players who are beginners may want to consider practicing these hitting techniques:
Line shot
Tip or Dink shot
Cross Court Shot
Soft Top Spin Shot
Serving
Players who are beginners in volleyball tend to focus on only a single aspect of the game. The basic options for serving are the overhand serve and underhand serve.
The underhand serve only requires players to toss the volleyball up and then use their other hand to send the ball into play.
The overhead serve is a popular type of serving technique .The overhead serve involves the players to send the ball over the net with a mix of misdirection as well as speed.
Defense
Beginner players tend to focus on the attack in a game of volleyball, but defense is equally important. The basic and main techniques for defense are digging and blocking. A block that is perfect can take the bite out of the opponent’s spike and it allows the team’s hitter to deliver a ferocious counterattack. Digging is a defense technique that can weaken player’s opponents psychologically as they will return the ball just when they think that they might have scored a point.
