It’s good to have some tips before beginning to practice anything. That tad bit of exertion could be the contrast amongst night and day or the decoration position and second place!
Tip 1: Ensure that your head is lined up with your spine. Hold your back straight and lined up with your head. This can be made sure by looking at the base of the pool, not in front of you! By looking anywhere but down, you are making your hips drop and you will have to kick all that much harder to keep them up, and you don’t have to utilize a lot of energy which could make you very tired.
Tip 2: You have to get over your dread of swim goggles! When you don’t have them on it is harder for you to relax. The reason for this is to keep the water from splashing into your eyeballs. Keep loose, hold your head down, keep your goggles on!
Tip 3: Take a couple of things into thought; Your lungs are brimming with air and are genuinely light. Your legs and hips are extremely thick and they aren’t light! Holding your head down makes your body “swivel” on the light lungs and keeps your legs and hips up so you do not get worn out by attempting to keep them up.
Tip 4: A great tip to know is that to swim faster, you should keep one of your shoulders out of the water! Swim on your side and change sides with each stroke! This encourages you to lessen the drag that your shoulders will cause.
Tip 5: When you need to breathe, rotate your head to do so but do not lift it. Lifting will make your hips and legs to go down and you’ll have to work harder to get them back up!
