For netball coaches drills can be a great way to teach players a number of skills that are crucial in the game of netball.
Number Netball
This is a fun drill that will help players with their offensive abilities. Begin by separating up the players into two teams and give every player in every team a successive number (so 1, 2, 3 etc).
One team turn into the offenders and a ball ought to be given to the player numbered 1. That player ought to then go to player 2 who then goes to player 3 and so on.
The other team is given the title of the defenders, and they should attempt to get the ball off of the other group as they are passing from each other. In the event that they successfully get the ball they then turn into the offensive group and the other team turns into the defensive group.
Triangle Defense
This drill helps players to build up their defense abilities. It requires a single ball and four players.
To set up for the drill, the coach needs to position three of the players in a triangle each around 3 meters separated and give a ball to one of the players.
The fourth player turns into the defender and should remain opposite the player with the ball. The defender ought to remain between the other two players and slightly in front of them.
The player with the ball should then make a chest pass to both of the other two players making up the triangle and the defender has to attempt to catch the ball. Once the defender is able to effectively catch the four balls, the positions are turned and the drill is to be repeated.
The 4 Corner Pass
This drill is intended to help players with their passing capacities and the drill requires only five players. Four of the five players must make a square with one player remaining at every edge of the square. The fifth player turns into the attacker and afterward remains amidst the square with a ball. The attacker is then required to drive, cut and utilize the space around the square until they have passed and received the ball from each of the other four players twice. However, they may not go to a similar player twice in a row. Once finished, switch the positions and repeat the drill.
