Piggy in the Middle
This drill is a type of defensive netball drill and requires at least seven players and a single ball.
Begin the game by having the players make a circle with two of the players amidst it. The players who have formed the circle should then go to each other utilizing diverse styles of passes along with different speeds and varying heights and as each of the player passes they should have to call the name of the player that they are going to pass to.
At that point, that every player passes to one another, the other the two players in the center must attempt to catch the ball. When one of the players amidst the circle effectively blocks five balls they can then exchange places with one of the players placed on the outside of the circle.
The Triangle Drill
This netball drill is a defending and requires four players and a single ball. To play the drill, the coach should have three players remain in the triangle with about three meters and with one player being given a ball and assigned the position of the thrower. The fourth player who will be the defender must remain opposite the thrower and amidst and a little bit in front the other two players who are assigned the position of receivers. To start the thrower must make a chest pass to one of the players assigned the position of the receiver and after that the defender must attempt to capture the ball. Once the defender has effectively captured five balls the players then they have to rotate positions.
Red Rover Drill
First there are 3 players are to play the position of defenders and are prohibited to cross the transverse line which is in the middle marker. Then upon a signal by the coach, the rest of the players must attempt to try and cross the transverse line from the base line.
As the other players attempt to cross the transverse line the defenders task is to try to zone as many players as possible and the players who are unable to be zoned can cross the transverse line. The drill is to be continued on until one player has reached the line and that last player is able to swap places with one of the team defenders.
Zoning out Drill
One team will be the defensive team and the other will be the offensive team. The defenders need to line up along the middle transverse line between the 2/3rd and as for the offenders; they have to line up along the base line. The coach has the duty to select two offenders and one defender. On the signal by the coach, the task of the offenders is to run at the defender from different positions along the line and the task of the defenders is to try to zone the offenders from entering into the area.
The drill is carried on until everyone has taken their turn and then exchange positions.
